I’ve been a full-time real estate broker since 2004. After working for several years as an engineer at a technology company and in technical sales for an enterprise software company, I decided to follow my passion and become a real estate agent. I’ve always loved looking at houses, and that is what initially piqued my interest in real estate. Going through the process of searching for and buying my first house made me realize that this is what I wanted to help other people do.
With a bachelor’s and master’s degree in industrial engineering, I’ve always had a love of numbers and statistics. I’ve been able to utilize this skill set in real estate in analyzing and watching for trends in our local real estate market. I love tracking what’s happening to prices, market time, and inventory levels in West Seattle and other Seattle neighborhoods. By being knowledgeable about what’s happening in our local market, I’m better able to help my clients with buying and selling their homes.
I also love the creative side of real estate – where I get to design marketing pieces for my listings and help sellers de-clutter and stage their homes to get them ready to put on the market. I think it is critical to make your home look great in person and in photographs, and I have an eye for making simple changes that have a big impact on how your home is presented. I believe it is important to have high quality marketing materials to make your home stand-out from the many other listings on the market.
I moved to the Puget Sound area in 1997 and I have lived in West Seattle since 1999. I live close to Lincoln Park with my husband and 2 sons. I am originally from Des Moines, IA and I lived there until I went to college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. After growing up and going to college in the Midwest, I love the small-town feel of West Seattle and the big-city feel of the greater Seattle area. I think we get to enjoy the best of both worlds by living in West Seattle.
